Approached at ground level, Petronas Towers are enormous. If it were three or four stories it would be a huge building, with a footprint the size of a football pitch. But then you look up. YeGods! It just doesn’t stop. You get vertigo looking up. And up. And up.
But unlike most mega-scrapers, it’s as beautiful as it is huge. Especially at night. Maybe it’s partly because we saw it only last night, but with further apologies for hyperbole, it’s the only modern building I’ve come across that inspires the kind of sheer awe you get from the great medieval cathedrals.
