When you hear the word Tuscanny, ‘drab’ is not a word that comes to mind. But as we discovered this morning, wending our way through dull, flat countryside from one nondescript village to the next, there’s a whole chunk of it that will never be in the brochure.
And then, with a foothill or two, we began climbing back into the real deal – lovely old towns, firmly clinging to hilltops, full of wonderful old buildings and host to breathtaking vistas.
And that’ll have to do for today, ‘cos we’re up in the boondocks in the back of beyond, with no wifi, and I’m literally standing out in the woods, with network barely hanging by a thread. Back at the (very nice) house, there’s a one blip ‘E’ connection, which Google informs me (painfully slowly) is the second-worst connection there is. Hope I don’t encounter the next one down anytime soon.
